Monads Dance Club

Corvallis, OR

The Monads Dance Club is a friendly group that gathers for a monthly dinner and ballroom dancing. Open to people of all ages, Monads has met for over ninety years - our 100th anniversary is coming up in 2021! Some of the current members have belonged for many years, some are new each year. Many members find they start coming for the dancing, then return for the friendly social environment.

From October to May, we get together for dinner and ballroom dancing. This year, because of upgrades at the Corvallis Senior Citizens Center, we will be using the ballroom at the Corvallis Congregational Church from October through April then returning to the Corvallis Senior Citizens Center in May. We usually dance to a live band. Occasionally we use a special dance CD (to keep costs down). The dances will be on the second Sunday of the month and on the second Tuesday of the month in May, along with a buffet from Valley Catering. The evening starts with a no-host bar at 6:00 pm, with dinner from 6:30 to 7:30 pm and dancing from 7:30 to 9:30 pm.

Décor, festivities, and food revolve around a different theme each month which is decided by the dance committee for the month. Each of us is on one dance committee per year which turns out to be a fun part of the club!
